 This week (Ending Friday 15th September 2017)

Maths:  We have been using number lines to calculate the missing number and problem solving using number bonds 

English: We learning the story of Stone Age Boy and writing setting descriptions. We have also been using adjectives and similes to write a powerful character description

Spelling:  Please continue to use Nessy at home. 

SPaG: Our focus has been adjectives and similes

History: The children have been exploring Stone Age artefacts and creating timelines 

ICT: We have been using the internet to research our topic

PSHE: We have discussing the word 'responsibility' and what that means to us. 

Science: We have been exploring and learning about the different properties of rocks 

PE: We have begun to work on control and coordination skills in both gymnastics and ball games

Art: We have creating cave paint using pastels and water to experiment with and to create cave sketches 

Music: We are listening and reponding to Rock and Roll music and learning about the 1950's era

RE: We have begun to think about our self identity and what makes us unique


Next week : (Ending Friday 22nd September 2017)

Maths: We  will be learning about place value of 2, 3 and 4 digit numbers and calculating using expanded and column addition

English:  We will be innovating the story of Stone Age Boy and creating our own 'portal' stories

Spelling:  Suffix  -ly and -ty

SPaG: Adverbs and adverbials of time and place

History: We will be begining to learn about what daily life was like for people during the Stone Age

Science: We will be learning about fossils and how they are formed

ICT: Children will be begin to learn about Blogging

PSHE: We will be learning about why we needs rules and creating a class deal

PE: We will be continuing to develop balance and coordination skills using different apparatus 

Art: We will be creating our own pieces of cave art using authentic techniques

Music: We will continuing to learn about the Rock and Roll era

RE: We will be considering the different ways we express our identity

Please check your child's homework book for their weekly spellings.
